Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did You ever Have a dream to Sing to the world Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did You ever Have a dream to Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did you ever Have a dream to Well I know that you do And I need you Take me by the hand You can lead me Cos I can’t lead myself But if you think That I should And maybe I think that That I could Then let me run but Keep a close follow on me I need someone To show me The way to the way I am lost But can show me Cos you are stronger But only if you want to I don’t want to interfere With your world I had a dream to Sing to the world I’ve got to get up I’ve got to come down But lines had better be good And had better be sound But if I don’t make it soon I shall never will And no one‘ll want to know So I beg you to come with me My songs are not very good But I shall sing thee She says, your songs I don’t recognise But there is stardom in your eyes I had a dream sing to the world Yes I had a dream to sing to the world Now that you made it Now that you at the top Well don’t forget us Us who helped you there Well you know it You know you wanted to be a star Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow Did you ever Have a dream to Well I know that I did Did you ever Have a dream to Sing at the Rainbow

My sweet Nightingale My sweet Nightingale You sing your song so sweet Take it to the moonlight Com' on fly on high You Sing to the ones It matters the most My sweet Nightingale You took me some places I've not been before Doing things I was told to avoid By my ma and pa Well I’m sure it ain't right To stay here too long But I might just stick around I might just do one more song My Sweet Nightingale My sweet I wish I could sing like you Fly like you as high as you But I'm just a man With desires running free An ordinary man With desires and fantasies I wish I could sing like you Fly like you As high as you But I'm just a man With desires running free An ordinary man With desires and fantasies My Sweet Nightingale You Sing to the ones It matters the most My Sweet Nightingale

You know me like The April rains Springtime laughter and Natures games Well you know me like The summer sun Hot with fury and alive with fun Well you know me like the autumn winds Bringing down leaves from frosted limbs But till then you knew me But then you were gone Cos the Winters song is a bad one The winters song is blue The winters song I don’t sing Cos it parted me From you now Party me from you Oh from you now Can I express what I must feel With words I know With words I steal Can I say within a line That I want you To be mine Lonely I Sing in the middle of the night With a chorus I sung lying in my bed Till I take my slumber down Underneath my eiderdown Dreaming of the love I found When you were around Till then you knew me But then you were gone The winters song is a bad one The winters song is blue The winters song I don’t sing Cos it parted me from you now From you now The winters song is a bad one The winters song is blue The winters song I don’t sing Cos it parted me From you

As I lite up a cigarette On the edge of me bed Had enough I’m fed up Another day another grin When all will be fine The old days, the laugh and the fun Stuck up with Pins The people and the good times Seem such a Long long time ago The nights grow long and silent babe Drowning my past at the bar Should I let out my anguish in a fight Has everyone going to the Moon I’m lost and in the gutter babe As the sun goes down The people and the good times Seem such a Long long time ago Such a Long long time ago That I don’t know If I’m coming or I’m going, Which way to turn to Who am I babe Who are you What’s between us Is this where we supposed To be The people and the good times Seem such a Long long time ago Such a Long long time ago That I don’t know If I’m coming or I’m going, Which way to turn to Who am I babe Who are you What’s between us Is this where we supposed To be

Lover let your love be mine Com on baby the clock of time Is ticking With your eyes Oh baby, see what life is all about All about Well I don’t know What life’s about Life’s about Now that I’ve Come to you I find myself I find you out in the clouds With me on your mind Come on down To the ground Speak those sounds that I long to hear When you’re out And on your own People notice you Your hair and your eyes The way that it lays Your walk and all of what you is Love is Good Love is free Love is sharing Love is all of that Love is What life is all about

about

Retoons Project Vol 5. Six great tracks with Six wonderful videos. Singer-songwriter acoustic led collection from my blues/folk/country ‘emo’ ballads that never were back in the day! This mindful album of poetic songs, builds and finales with a guitar homage to Frank Zappa! All specially mixed, stirred and shaken fifty year late for those that give a damn about what I create. Enjoy with the videos. My gratitude, your pleasure.

The tracks:

Sing at the Rainbow. Written circa 1978, a story of the wannabe rock star I sort, but never had what it took to find!

Workhouse Blues. Written circa 1975, a blues ballad dancing on hard times.

Nightingale. Written circa 1978, a blues of discovery A favourite song I’m glad to have rediscovered.

Winters Song. A love blues, written circa 1979. One of many wonderful, long forgotten ballads, now re-discovered from the old cassette tapes.

People And The Good Times. Written circa 1980, a favourite emo blues ballad!

What's Life All About? A gritty blues song written circa 1977, a song about life, love and all it’s natural weirdness. In this Retoons production, the track fades into a guitar solo inspired by, and played as homage to, one of my guitar hero's, Frank Zappa.

KCJ RAR York, UK

Independent artist, song creator and musician
KCJ RAR Project Retoons, recreating songs I wrote as a wannabe back in the 1970's and 80's. Now home recording guitars and virtual instruments to create classic rock numbers that never were; symphonic prog epics that could have been; and avant-garde psychedelic art rock grooves that surely fill a gap in music history today? Maybe not, but lots of fun! ... more
